“the lake“ is a personal project of mine from 2025. The film is an abstract short film based on a poem I wrote. It was streamed at different festivals and won two prizes.

I once found a lake — beautiful and deep,
soft on the surface, dark underneath.

shimmered like promise in the chaos I hide,
a whisper, a calling, made me lose my mind.

I dipped in my toes, you pulled me below,
into the deep where wild waters grow.

I splashed in your shallows, touched by your light,
haunted by shadows that slip out of sight.

carried by currents, I’m searching for ground,
searching for something that won’t be found.

the deeper I dive, the higher I fly,
learning to breathe where silence lies.

The lake as my teacher, in it’s depths I found,
the strength I once lacked, now on my own.
